General Practice Business Administrator: the programme
From 12 months, plus a 3-month Apprenticeship Assessment (AA). Around six hours a week of your working time goes on learning: workshops, online resources, work-based projects and one-to-one time with your tutor.
Understanding the NHS and practice structure
How GP practices fit into the NHS and Integrated Care Boards.
Effective stakeholder management
Work professionally with patients, colleagues, suppliers and external organisations.
Primary care legislation and policies
The policies that govern general practice and how they protect patients and staff.
Project management
Lead or support small service improvement projects in your team.
Planning and time management
Practical tools to organise your workday, meet deadlines and improve workflows.
IT and digital skills
Key systems such as EMIS, Accurx and Excel for patient records and admin tasks.
