We are pleased to announce a new partnership with the NHS Leadership Academy. Community Matters is now licensed to deliver the Academy’s Edward Jenner Programme as part of our apprenticeships.
The Edward Jenner Programme is the NHS’s foundation leadership programme: the online course the Academy uses to introduce leadership to people at the start of their careers in health and care. It covers the leadership behaviours, self-awareness and understanding of the NHS that help people take the lead in their teams, whatever their role.
What this means for employers
Every apprentice on a Community Matters programme can now complete the Edward Jenner Programme alongside their apprenticeship, at no extra cost to you. On completion they receive the NHS Leadership Academy’s certificate and lapel badge. For a practice, PCN, Trust or council, it is a recognised way to start building leadership capability in the people you are already investing in, from Level 2 administrative recruits to Level 4 transformation and project leads.
What this means for apprentices
The programme is flexible and online, so apprentices work through it in their own time around their apprenticeship, with support from their tutor. The Academy’s award sits on their CV next to their apprenticeship qualification, and it is the same programme the NHS offers its own staff who are starting out in leadership.
Current apprentices will find a step-by-step enrolment guide in the learner portal. If you would like to talk about what the programme could add for your team, email apprenticeships@
